From fiber art to bamboo fretwork, cut paper to collage …

The multitude of ways in which visual impressions can be translated into images has always intrigued me, which is why my work navigates unabashedly between art, craft, illustration and the sheer pleasure of ‘making’.

I have played with a variety of materials and mediums: dye painting on linen; industrial felt cut and assembled into wall hangings; bamboo ply fretwork for screens and lanterns; and more recently, different papers, cut, torn and twisted into low relief images, some just white on white, some with added color. At times, hand stitching is used to highlight a shape, draw an outline or just hold layers together. And on it goes, as the eye pursues its never-ending joyful exploration.
